The Arrival

Ride with The Wall into Oneonta

Motorcycles will escort The Wall That Heals home to Central New York — a tribute in motion, led by the American Legion Riders Post 259, Oneonta, NY.

For Riders

Join the escort

American Legion Riders emblem — an eagle with spread wings behind the American Legion sealThe American Legion Riders Post 259, Oneonta, NY are honored to lead the escort on Tuesday, September 22, 2026. Riders gather at 11:30 AM at the Walmart Supercenter in Cobleskill (139 Merchant Pl, Cobleskill, NY 12043), directly off I-88 at Exit 22 — a wide-open lot where riders can stage safely away from traffic and the semi can transition seamlessly off the interstate to join the pack.

Kickstands go up at 12:00 PM. From there the procession rides west along NY Route 7 — a beautifully paced 50-to-60-minute honorable escort into Oneonta, carrying the names the final miles at local road speeds. To ride with the escort or ask about details, contact the American Legion Riders at 607-601-1273.

Line the streets

You don’t need a motorcycle to be part of the arrival. Traveling at local road speeds turns this journey into a moving parade — residents, schools, businesses, and families along Route 7 are invited to gather safely along the roadside with flags and welcome The Wall to our community.
