Schedule of Events

Four days of remembrance

The Wall That Heals arrives Tuesday, September 22 and is on display September 24 through 27, 2026. Here is how the visit unfolds.

  1. Tuesday, September 22

    Motorcycle Escort & Arrival

    The Wall That Heals arrives in Oneonta under motorcycle escort led by the American Legion Riders Post 259, Oneonta, NY. Riders stage in Cobleskill at 11:30 AM, kickstands up at 12:00 PM, then ride NY Route 7 into Oneonta. The community is invited to line the route and welcome it home.

  2. Wednesday, September 23

    Assembly of The Wall

    Setup begins at 8:30 AM as volunteers construct all 140 panels. Once the panels are in place, The Wall is open to visitors.

  3. Thursday, September 24

    Opening Ceremony — 8:00 AM

    The Wall That Heals officially opens to the public. Open 24 hours a day from this moment on.

    School Field-Trip Day

    Thursday and Friday are dedicated school days, with a focus on 8th and 11th grade students.

  4. Friday, September 25

    School Field-Trip Day

    The second dedicated day for school groups touring The Wall and the Mobile Education Center.

    Guided Tours

    VVMF staff lead tours of The Wall and Mobile Education Center throughout the visit.

  5. Saturday, September 26

    Agent Orange & PTSD Awareness Ceremony

    A participatory ceremony of remembrance and awareness. Time to be announced.

    Guided Tours

    Tours continue throughout the day and evening.

  6. Sunday, September 27

    Closing Ceremony — 1:45 PM

    A final tribute before The Wall closes at 2:00 PM sharp and disassembly begins.
